Introduction

The Medibank Private Seven Bridges Walk is a FREE community event for all ages. Participants are encouraged to donate a voluntary “Bridge Toll” at each bridge to assist with fund raising.
The Medibank Private Seven Bridges Walk is an experience celebrating walking; it’s not a race and everyone will be a winner. The course is a 22km closed loop circuit around Sydney Harbour highlighting many of the magnificent views around the harbour.
The Challenge
Zoogle was asked to design and develop a new website for the event, create a participation passport booklet for the public and utilise a ZCommerce platform to allow for charity donations.
The Process

This event was the first ever Seven Bridges Walk, so there was a large learning curve with the logistics of this large charity event.
The design and development of the website were the first tasks we undertook. Registrations were taken via the website and also manually, so there was a small amount of manual data entry to allow for everyone to be able to register and participate in the event.

Once that was live for visiting (as the event and website were being promoted on Channel 7 and in the papers) we implemented the zCommerce platform to allow for people to make charity donations, which would be split evenly amongst the four charities (Beyond Blue, Cancer Council, Diabetes Australia, The Heart Foundation).
Zoogle also designed the Participant Passport booklet that would be handed out to every participant on event day which contained a map, useful information about the Seven Bridges, the participating sponsors and charities and space for them to attach their unique barcode, which was assigned to each participant upon registration.
The Result
The event was very successful. There were nearly 10,000 participants who showed up on event day and all were given their passports and the website is still up and running and able to take charity donations
