Introduction

In London, England, Le Méridien is a global hotel group with a portfolio of more than 120 luxury and upscale hotels in over 50 countries worldwide. The majority of their hotels and resorts are located in the world's top destinations throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

The Challenge

Zoogle Interactive was commissioned by Le Meridien to create an online presence that gives potential visitors the chance to experience every Le Meridien property worldwide. Zoogle was also required to create a tool that management could use to update website content, manage the global database and provide facilities for online booking.

The Process

Key features of the solution include: online booking that will allow Le Meridien to drive revenue through their site; iPIX to allow online visitors to view individual hotel rooms or properties; online postcards; an email alert service to enable each individual property to better service its customer base; content management tool to enable the management of each individual property to update the content of their own websites at their discretion; an administration tool and; a property database integration tool to enable streamlined management of the global hotel directory, including search and editing functions.

The Result

Owing to the work completed by Zoogle a significant variety of results were achieve which include:

  • The ability for Le Meridien to derive revenues from online bookings, thereby providing increased ease of service to customers at minimal additional resource cost
  • Enhanced individual hotel marketing by allowing website visitors to be photographically immersed in individual rooms or properties through iPIX technology
  • Increased brand awareness by offering website visitors the opportunity to send online postcards featuring Marianski artwork that is consistent with the Le Meridien corporate identity
  • Individual properties are able to build their customer relationship by use of email database
  • Increased efficiency and enhanced website attractiveness by provision of content management software to individual hotels, allowing them to edit and update published information (e.g. changing menus, room rates etc.) at their own discretion.
  • Integration of the property database enables streamlined management of the group hotel directory at local, regional and global management levels.
